Running Together Again
SUCCESS!
YOU ran with us May 7, 2022
It was wonderful to have hundreds of runners back in Anson Nixon Park for the Kennett Run on May 7th, especially with the less than ideal weather. From all the high fives, huge smiles, and congratulations shared among the runners at the finish line, it looked to me that everyone had a great time. I now know runners did thanks to a note we received from one of our runners, Debbie. She said, “Wet as it was, May 7th was a great time to be back up and running!” It’s great to know that the runners felt as good about the day as we did in providing it.
The 10K PoweRun may have been run in a record time this year. It was won by a 67 year old man with an adjusted time of -5:56. Second place was taken by a 41 year old man with an adjusted time of -5:49. Both of these men did over 55 pull-ups to earn their negative adjusted times. It looks like the pull-ups were well received and will be continued for the PoweRun.
No matter which race you ran, you can see your time or that of all the runners here: https://runsignup.com/Race/Results/42124#resultSetId-315294;perpage:100.
Allowing runners to contribute $5 of the registration fee to their local high school sports boosters program was also a success. We’ll be cutting checks to most of the high schools in the Ches-Mont league. Kennett High School will be receiving over $1,100 and Unionville High School almost $400. We hope we can increase the revenue for all the high schools in the Ches-Mont league significantly in future years.
We hope we’ll see you again next May for the 33rd Kennett Run.
