In anticipation of an amazing 2012 race, we are reaching out to past participants as well as potential participants to personally invite you to the 23rd annual Kennett Run, Saturday May, 19, 2012. We are a small town…hosting a BIG RACE...supported and surrounded by our...STRONG COMMUNITY.
The Kennett Run Charities was established in 1989 with the purpose of promoting the general well being and civic betterment of Kennett area residents, organizations and projects.
The race offers something for all ages and abilities ranging from a 1 mile fun walk to a 10K Power Run and everything in between. Our race is staffed by wonderful volunteers followed by a big party in the park for all racers and families. Food, drinks and entertainment all provided by local businesses and sponsors, celebrating the strength of community and family in Kennett Square.
The PoweRun is limited to only 200 spots, and will offer a free first edition Kennett Run visor to all who sign up if the race is filled to capacity.
In 2011, $46,211 was gifted by the Kennett Charities to local residents, organization as and projects. Since it’s inception $529, 264 has been gifted to the community. Your participation in this race strengthens our community and we want to thank you for your support!

Race Day Schedule:
- Registration: 6:30am - 8:15am
- PoweRun Lifting Competition: 7:00am - 8:30am
- Pre-Race Meeting: 8:50 am (at Start)
- 10K Run - 9:00 a.m.
- 5K Open Run - 9:25 a.m.
- 5K Girls on the Run/Girls on Track/STRIDE Wave - 9:30 a.m.
- 5K Keith McGrath Memorial RaceWalk - 9:35 a.m.
- 1-mile Fun Walk - 9:36 a.m.
- 1-mile Kids Race - 10:35 a.m. [in Anson Nixon Park]

Parking:
- Buses will be available for transporting runner and spectators from the parking lots to Registration and the Start beginning at 6:30 a.m., Beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. buses will transport individuals to Anson B. Nixon Park from Excelon parking lot.
- Parking is available at the following locations:
- Exelon Generation - located on Exelon Way in Kennett Square (off of State Street)
- The Kennett Square Fire Company - located on Dalmation Lane, Kennett Square (off of Cypress Street)
- The Genesis Parking Deck - located at the corner of Linden Street and Union Street, Kennett Square
- PLEASE do not attempt to park at the Registration site, at the Start, or at Anson Nixon Park as you will be turned away. There will be plenty of buses to take you where you need to go in a timely manner.
